About The Founder
Joshua has over twenty years experience as a yoga practitioner and teacher. He was first introduced to yoga in Japan in the early 90s, whilst studying at Tokyo University and training for competitive triathlons. Searching for additional flexibility and joint mobility, yoga was a deep revelation into the possibility of connecting mind, body and soul.
A lifelong student of human physiology, anatomy, biochemistry and endocrinology, Joshua has a Bachelor’s degree from University of Toronto’s School of Medicine and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Richard Ivey School of Business School and Tokyo University’s Keio School of Business.
After many years of teaching and witnessing numerous injuries, Joshua explored different teaching methodologies and tools to help yoga practitioners understand their movement on the mat, improve their practice and prevent injury.
This lead him to invent of yomat, a pressure sensitive, intelligent yoga mat for all yogis.
